Former Massachusetts governor, Mitt Romney, has dropped a full 10 points from five days ago, when he had 43% of likely GOP voters to 33% in a January 9th Suffolk University poll.
Romney is followed by Ron Paul at 20%, Jon Huntsman at 13%, Newt Gingrich at 11% and Rick Santorum at 10%, while Rick Perry and Buddy Roemer finished just above 1% each. 12% of voters still remain undecided.

People aren’t on fire for Romney, they simply believe he can win. Truth is, many Republicans don’t care who the nominee is (they would vote for ANY Republican over Obama) so numbers that show who has the most GOP support don’t really matter that much. What this party needs is new voters and independent and even converted Democrat voters to grow the party and make Obama vulnerable. The only candidate with a chance of winning in the general election is Ron Paul. Sorry, love him or hate him…. you’ve got to love him. Any Republican candidate that does not have the support of Paul’s base will lose.
It’s true… so many independent supporters of Ron Paul will choose to vote Obama if Romney wins the nom because he’s too much of a ‘politician’ to get their support
If Rick Perry is allowed to debate, then Buddy Roemer should be allowed to debate also! He has real ideas and is more qualified than all these candidates, let Buddy debate! Maybe the best candidate hasn’t been heard from yet. Its not right that they have shut him out of all the debates.
Gingrich had my vote until I saw that he dodged the draft. I am going with my head and now knowing that he can beat Obama (link below), I am going with Dr. Ron Paul.

come on. he was not eligible…he dodged nothing. gingrich is the only one who has been in a situation where there was a divided congress and white house yet reformed welfare and balanced the budget 4 years in a row. if you buy into the crap that the republican establishment and party politics have delt out you are as niaeve as those that voted for obama last time….how did that work out for you. first they went after cain now it is gingrich….mitt romney is as liberal as obama and will say anything to be elected. he has changed his position more times than his underwear….
Gingrich is merely a chubbier, slicker version of Romney, but without the government trough to feed at he would be a poor, perhaps thinner, man — and was, before he moved into the political class and profited enormously at our expense.
i agree, newt is my man. i am tired of fox news pushing romney. i don’t understand fox news, when they say romney is not a politician, he was the governor of ma. how did he get there if he is not a politician. he also run for president in 2008.he is a ploitician.
Newt is a joke, the more I listen the more I’m leaning towards Ron Paul. He’s the only one who’s truly interested in making the US fiscally sound.
